Storage System
Before using Easy Administration View, use Web GUI (Normal View) or CLI to complete the initial settings of the storage system and the advance preparations required to use Easy Administration View.
The "initial setting" indicates the required operations (such as enabling Thin Provisioning, enabling the deduplication/compression function, registering the Advanced Copy license, and configuring networks) regardless of whether Easy Administration View is used.
The initial setting is not available in Easy Administration View. Refer to "Configuration Guide (Basic)" for details.
The following shows the procedure to use Easy Administration View after performing the initial setting.
Enable the HTTPS connection to Web GUI.
To connect to Easy Administration View, HTTPS connections must be enabled. Use Web GUI (Normal View) or CLI to register the SSL server key and the SSL server certificate (or self-signed SSL certificate) and enable the HTTP connection.
Enable RESTful API.
Easy Administration View uses RESTful API to obtain and change the storage system information. Use Web GUI (Normal View) or CLI to enable RESTful API.
In addition, RESTful API uses port 5665 for TCP communication. If the firmware is updated from V11L30 or earlier, port 5665 is disabled. In this case, use the [Setup Firewall] function to enable the RESTful API port.
Create Thin Provisioning Pools.
Easy Administration View assumes that Thin Provisioning Pools are being used. Use Web GUI (Normal View) or CLI to enable the Thin Provisioning function. To use the deduplication/compression function, enable the deduplication/compression function for the storage system. By enabling the Thin Provisioning function, creating Thin Provisioning Pools becomes available. Create Thin Provisioning Pools where the volumes are to be created using Web GUI (Normal View) or CLI.
