Solution Overview
Power consumption can be reduced by stopping disk motors when they are not being used. Making power consumption more efficient reduces the cost of electricity, noise emissions, and CO2 emissions.
If the backup time period is predetermined, power saving operations can be implemented effectively by setting the Eco-mode schedule for backing up disk drives to only activate the disks when required. The disks motor or the disks power can be turned on and off according to the backup operation state using ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager.
The graphical display when ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser is used makes it easy to understand changes in power consumption and in temperature as well as check the effect of power saving operations and the effect of air conditioning around the ETERNUS DX. This statistical data can be output to a file so that it can be used when planning which power supply equipment and air conditioning equipment should be used by monitoring the degree of changes in power consumption and temperature.
