Configuration Workflow

This chapter explains how to set up the ETERNUS DX.

Configuration Settings for RAID Groups and Thin Provisioning

Register the RAID groups, the volumes, and the hot spares in the ETERNUS DX. Use the Thin Provisioning function to create Thin Provisioning Volumes and Thin Provisioning Pools. For details on these settings, refer to Configuration Settings for RAID Groups or Thin Provisioning.

Host Interface Management

Perform the settings for SAN connections with the server. For details on these settings, refer to Host Interface Management.

Monitoring Settings

Perform the settings to enable constant monitoring of the ETERNUS DX status as required. For details on these settings, refer to Monitoring Settings.

Power Control Setup

Perform the power control settings as required. This section describes the Auto Power function, the Power Resume function, the RCIL power interlocking function, and the Wake On LAN settings. For details on these settings, refer to Power Control Setup.

Settings for the Advanced Copy Environment

Perform the settings for the Advanced Copy environment as required. This section describes the procedure from the advance preparation to the copy session management. For details on these settings, refer to Settings for the Advanced Copy Environment.

Settings for the Deduplication/Compression Function (*1)

Perform the settings for the Deduplication/Compression function as required. This section describes the procedure from the advance preparation to the setting of the Deduplication/Compression function. For details, refer to Settings for the Deduplication/Compression Function.
