Delete host group

The delete hostGroup command deletes a host group.

Supported Series

This command applies to any individual storage system, including the ETERNUS HB1100/HB1200, ETERNUS HB2100/HB2200/HB2300, ETERNUS HB5100/HB5200, ETERNUS AB6100 and ETERNUS AB3100 series, as long as all SMcli packages are installed.

Roles

To execute this command on an ETERNUS HB1100/HB1200, ETERNUS HB2100/HB2200/HB2300, ETERNUS HB5100/HB5200, ETERNUS AB6100 or ETERNUS AB3100 storage system, you must have the Storage Admin role.

Context

Possible damage to the storage system configuration — This command deletes all of the host definitions in the host group.

Syntax

delete hostGroup [hostGroupName]

Parameter

Parameter Description

hostGroup

The name of the host group that you want to delete. Enclose the host group name in square brackets ([ ]). If the host group name contains special characters or consists only of numbers, you must enclose the host group name in double quotation marks (" ") inside square brackets.

Notes

A host group is an optional topological element that is a collection of hosts that share access to the same volumes. The host group is a logical entity.
