Set storage Array unnamed discovery session

The set storageArray unnamedDiscoverySession command enables the storage system to participate in unnamed discovery sessions.

Supported Series

This command applies to any individual storage system, including the HB2100/HB2200/HB2300, HB5100/HB5200, AB6100 and AB3100 series, as long as all SMcli packages are installed.

Roles

To execute this command on an HB2100/HB2200/HB2300, HB5100/HB5200, AB6100, or AB3100 storage system, you must have the Storage Admin role.

Syntax

set storageArray unnamedDiscoverySession=(TRUE | FALSE)

Parameter

Parameter Description

unnamedDiscoverySession

This parameter turns on or turns off unnamed discovery sessions. Set the parameter to TRUE to turn on unnamed discovery sessions. Set the parameter to FALSE to turn off unnamed discovery sessions.

Notes

Discovery is the process where initiators determine the targets that are available. Discovery occurs at power-on/initialization and also if the bus topology changes, for example, if an extra device is added.

An unnamed discovery session is a discovery session that is established without specifying a target ID in the login request. For unnamed discovery sessions, neither the target ID nor the target portal group ID are available to the targets.
