Start volume group locate

The start volumeGroup locate command identifies the drives that are logically grouped together to form the specified volume group by blinking the indicator lights on the drives.

Supported Series

This command applies to any individual storage system, including the HB2100/HB2200/HB2300, HB5100/HB5200, AB6100 and AB3100 series, as long as all SMcli packages are installed.

Roles

To execute this command on an HB2100/HB2200/HB2300, HB5100/HB5200, AB6100, or AB3100 storage system, you must have the Storage Admin role.

Context

Use the stop volumeGroup locate command to turn off the indicator lights on the drives.

Syntax

start volumeGroup [volumeGroupName] locate

Parameter

Parameter Description

volumeGroup

The name of the volume group for which you want to locate the drives that belong to that volume group. Enclose the volume group name in square brackets ([ ]).
